The problem
Industrial safety training relies on classroom slides and printed checklists. Workers learn the theory but rarely get to practice — until the day a real Lockout/Tagout procedure is required and mistakes carry real consequences.
The approach
A VR simulation that lets trainees practice the full LOTO procedure on virtual industrial equipment. Mistakes are immediate, recoverable, and informative — the simulation flags procedural errors and explains why they matter, so the next attempt is informed by the previous one.
The outcome
Deployed to a Quest-based training fleet across three plants. Time-to-competency dropped roughly 40% versus classroom-only training. Used in stakeholder demos to secure ongoing safety-tech budget.
